Midwestern troubadours Field Report are getting set to release their sophomore album Marigolden, out on Partisan Records on 10/7. The beautifully haunting album is a great songwriting progression for frontman Chris Porterfield and his collaborators, and today the album can be previewed a week early over at Pitchfork Advance. Here in Philly, excitement is high for Field Report; they were named WXPN’s September Artist to Watch, and they are performing the Free at Noon concert this Friday, October 3rd, at World Cafe Live. In addition, the band performs at Underground Arts on Thursday, October 2nd, for the Communion Philly showcase – which also features Birdie Busch and the Greatest Night, Marian Hill, Weekender and Quiet Life.
