Meddlesome Meddlesome Meddlesome Bells and more bring the dark side of Americana to Bourbon & Branch
Bourbon & Branch will host an evening of dark Americana exploration this Friday October, 10th. Curator Brandon Och has called in several local acts to indulge in his “foolish dream” of creating a “David Lynch meets Nina Simone meets William S. Burroughs meets Jim Jarmusch kind of party,” which is very topical as it turns out, with a new Twin Peaks series having been announced this week.First up will be garage rock trio The Scovilles, a local group that released its debut EP Play Seven Songs in 2012. Experimentalists Mock Suns will follow, a dreamy four-piece that just turned-in a spacey, psych-leaning cover of David Bowie’s “Starman.” Representing the gritty, blues psych corner of Americana is Reverend Mantis, with headliners Meddlesome Meddlesome Meddlesome Bells offering up some gothic fuzz rock to close out the night.
