The Electronic Weekend: WKDU’s Electronic Music Marathon begins Friday
After a seven-year break from the event, Drexel’s student-run WKDU radio will be hosting its 11th Electronic Music Marathon starting this Friday, October 10th and ending on Monday, October 13th. DJ’s have the opportunity to donate for a one hour time slot, which will benefit Musicopia and Village of Arts and Humanities, both local non-profits emphasizing arts education in Philadelphia. Throughout the event, there will also be chances for listeners to donate to both the non-profits and the station.
The lineup has already proven to be promising and includes names like Philly electro-icon King Britt, DJ Apt One, Dave P of Making Time fame and Les Professionels to name a few, and will cover a broad range of electronic music sub-genres, ensuring an enjoyably eclectic myriad of music for listeners.
The Marathon will be broadcasted live on 91.7 FM in addition to a live stream on wkdu.org. Any fan of electronic music can’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a long weekend chock-full of digital beats and opportunities to support one of Philly’s best student-run stations and two amazing local non-profits perpetuating music in our city.
