Lazy Salon

Foggy post-rockers Lazy Salon sound like a cross between the Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys and any-era Explosions In The Sky. The new project is the brainchild of Sean Byrne, who some of you might remember as 1/2 of the band Twin Atlas, and as drummer for several Philly bands including Lenola, Mazarin, Matt Pond PA, Audible, and BC Camplight.

Twin Atlas made their debut in 2000 with The Philadelphia Parking Authority Must Die, followed by several other releases until the band called it quits in December, 2010. The Atlas still have all their music up on their website. We highly suggest you check out some of their previous music including their aforementioned debut album, Sun Township, and Bring Along The Weather. There’s more than a handful of B-sides, demos and other musical rareties for the picking still on the site.

SO, where’s Byrne been? Raising a family and working for the digital man. (We should note here that Byrne once worked at WXPN as a web producer and designer and has taken his marvelous digital skills on to a very reputable “agency.”) Now that his “kids are out of diapers,” he explained over a Facebook message, he mentioned something about “rock and roll paternity leave” being over and he’s resurfaced as the one man Lazy Salon, an ambient, dusty, dusky and foggy musical project, that’s gently psychedelic and pulsating with magic.
