Free At Noon Flashback: DRGN King skips their day jobs to rock the first midday concert of 2015
WXPN’s 2015 Free at Noon Series kicked off with DRGN King this afternoon, and boy was it a great way to kick off the new year. The band, including lead singer/guitarist Dom Angelella – who said he had to take off from his day job teaching guitar today just to perform – played a wildly energetic and rambunctious set. Tracks performed included hits from their latest album, Baltimore Crush, such as “Undertow,” “Don’t Trust the Sad Boys,” and “In the Future.”
The crowd was younger and more college-aged than usual, especially one four-year-old fan who rocked out to DRGN King’s set with his own unplugged electric guitar he that brought along to the show with him. (Angelella said afterwards that he was a student of drummer Ricardo Lagomasino.)
Make sure you get tickets for what will be an equally awesome show at Johnny Brenda’s February 19th. Tickets can be found here. Unfortunately for DRGN King’s four-year-old guitar-playing fan, the show is 21+. Check out a gallery of photos and listen to a playback from today’s Free at Noon below.
