Mr. Sampson, a local four-piece with a unique electro/funk/hip-hop sound, has an energetic dynamic that shines through in their latest in-studio video release: a mix of their unreleased single “Weight of Time” and a cover of NY-based electro musician Eliot Lipp’s “Yeah.”

“Weight of Time,” a track off of their upcoming EP The Gathering Storm, kicks off the video with an easygoing vibe reminiscent of Pretty Lights. Four minutes in, the lights dim and the group sveltely transitions to a cover of Lipp’s track.

Mr. Sampson’s producer, Joe Haederle, is a student in Drexel’s Music Industry program. The group performed at the Drexel Fall Fest in early October, one of the opening acts for Big Sean and 2 Chainz.
