Today’s Free at Noon performance was a great one from the Wisconsin-based alternative folk band Phox, whose set included material from their debut album, which came out last June. Throughout the entire performance, the crowd was quietly enjoying the band’s soft yet powerful music, and mesmerized by lead singer Monica Martin’s powerful voice. Although, Martin admitted to not being entirely used to performance so early in the day. She likened her “cracky” morning voice to that of an “11-year old boy.” But anybody listening could tell that she was just being hard on herself, because the performance was spectacular.

If you liked them as much as we did and you’re not busy tonight, make sure to check out Phox with Field Report tonight at the Union Transfer on Spring Garden Street. Tickets and more information on the show can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Listen back to an archive of the show and check out a photo gallery below.
