Listen to Vita and the Woolf and Milton perform a collaborative song on the WXPN Philly Local Show
Last week, soul singer Milton and art-popper Jen Pague of Vita and the Woolf hit me up last week about doing an on-air collaboration for the XPN Philly Local Show, and what happened was totally unexpected. I figured maybe they’d come in and do a cover, or play one song from each of their albums. So it took me aback when, as I was letting them in the studio, Pague told me “We wrote a song today.”
As she put it, they met up, they ordered pizza, they wrote “Desperate.” You can stream the song below – it a perfect blend of the two artist’s styles, both Pague’s trademark synthesizer swell and vocal bravado with Milton’s emotive, evocative delivery. You can also hear the short interview that went along with it, where the artists talk about their upcoming gig this Friday April 10th at Franky Bradley’s in Center City (tickets and information at the XPN Concert Calendar). Catch them there, or see them this summer at the XPoNential Music Festival.
