Bill Ricchini, the Philadelphian-bred musician behind NYC’s Summer Fiction,  just released the first single off of the forthcoming album Himalaya, scheduled for release June 16.

The deliciously addictive new track “Lauren Lorraine” feels and sounds like walking through a funhouse. It’s a playful dedication (with various religious references) to the mystical title character, of whom Ricchini croons, “I dreamt of you before I met you / I know heaven sent you my way / God created light out of darkness and decided to call it day.”

Although Ricchini is now New York-based, Summer Fiction encompasses various Philly talent on the recording and production end like , and we’ve been following the project for years now, like the time they wowed the crowd with their Key Studio Sessions live concert at Johnny Brenda’s in 2012. Listen to “She’s Bound to Get Hurt” from that performance here and check out “Lauren Lorraine” below. See him play live at Boot & Saddle on June 20th.
