Best known as frontman of the Philadelphia / Jersey rock group Black Stars, Nik Greeley went solo this past year and has been proving his ability to move crowds and make great records.

His most recent effort, a track called “Way It Goes,” is all about moving on from a past love and rebuilding yourself for the future.  Uppity in vibe and energy, Greeley doesn’t try and depress us with the subject matter but instead tells his tale of woe in a fun and entertaining four-minute single. On the chorus, his infectious voice seems to take over the track, along with trumpets, and both are very overpowering (in a good way) at times.

Catchy and interesting, “Way It Goes” is the first single from Greeley’s new solo EP, Town Gypsy, and it proves that Greeley can navigate through the industry quite successfully on his own. He celebrates the release of the EP at MilkBoy on Saturday May 9th; tickets and more info on the show can be found here. Download “Way It Goes” below.
