Sunday morning saw the death of Queens rapper Chinx that caused an emotional outpouring from the hip hop community.  Following the news, Philly’s Meek Mill released a new track called “Miss My Dawgs” which touches on the saddening story of not only Chinx but his close friend Lil Snupe – who also died from violence in 2013.

The somber tune features G.O.O.D. Music artists Travis $cott and Strap on the chorus.  The low flowing melody allows Meek to freely rap some touching and at times bitter words that pay homage to his lost friends.  Recalling memories of his father and the struggle that comes with poverty allows for Meek to weave through stories of hardship and angst, basically everything that displays Meek at his best.

It’s not clear whether this song will be seen on Dreams Worth More Than Money later this year, but it is still a keeper nonetheless. Listen to “Miss My Dawgs” below.
