Free At Noon Flashback: DMA’s fill World Cafe Live with energy
Sydney trio DMA’s may have released their debut well over a year ago, landing them on the Australian top ten albums chart on iTunes according to the Sydney Morning Herald, but they are just starting to catch on here in the states.
Free at Noon concert-goers were treated to a short set from the band as they tour in support of their self-titled EP. Filled out by a full stage of musicians, the DMA’s filled the room with energy by playing what they describe as “garage pop,” catchy rock songs appealing to almost any listener. Kicking off their set with “Feels Like 37,” a high-energy tune that immediately caught the attention of everyone in the room, they showed Philly that they were much more than a hype band. Their versatility shone through with their stripped-down ballad, “So We Know,” an intimate song that featured only the trio. Attendees lingered long after the last few notes of their hit “Delete” were played by Johnny Took on guitar.
DMA’s will be playing a 21+ show at the Boot & Saddle tonight, and you can purchase tickets here. If you missed the performance, listen to back to an archive and check out a photo gallery below.
