Philly indie rockers Purples have just released the video for their reworked single “Nancy (Be Good)”. The original, “Nancy,” featured booming piano chords under subdued vocals, but the new version is what they dubbed the “rock & roll” version. You can check out the video for their original “Nancy” on their Facebook page. If you would like to check out more of their music, their Soundcloud page features a few more songs awaiting official release on their upcoming album Nancy.

Purples have been on the Philly music scene for quite some time. The band is actually 75% of the original lineup of augties indie faves The Teeth; they have since enlisted the help of Mike Quinn on guitar. Purples originally did a Key Studio Session at the tail end of 2012, and they have been working on music ever since. There is no word yet on the release date for Nancy, but the band has been pushing out singles in support for the entire month of May. The video for the latest “Nancy (Be Good)” looks like a dreary trip on one of the SEPTA Regional Rail lines, a stark contrast from the cemetery setting of the original “Nancy” video. Check out the new video below.
