Next month, Archer Spade will present its inaugural festival The Spectrum in South Philadelphia. The two days of workshops and performances focused on improvisational music will feature over a dozen musicians and several approaches to performing; Archer Spade’s Dan Blacksberg and Nick Millevoi will be joined by Eric CarbonaraKyle Press and Ashley Tini, among others.

For five years local musicians Millevoi and Blacksberg have been recording and performing as Archer Spade. They’ve debuted both original and commissioned avant-garde pieces, while expanding the city’s niche of interpretative and improvisational music offerings with specially-curated concerts.

For more information about the festival, which runs from July 25th – 26th at The Whole Shebang in South Philadelphia, visit the Facebook event page here.
