Listen to R’que’s new single “I Got It!”
Philly underground rapper R’que (formally Reek Da Rookie) just released his brilliantly spacey track titled “I Got It!” The production of the three and a half minute song (courtesy of both Digital Crates and R’que) makes for a great backdrop to his braggadocious wordplay and leveled flow, allowing him to coast over the beat and deliver memorable bars.
“Stunting is a hobby / put some cream on the ice that’s a gelati,” goes one line. The comical talk and continued upping of himself and his swag is definitely entertaining; considering other tracks like “Rich” that display a deeper side of R’que, this somewhat conceited effort fares well and shows off his well-rounded ability. His F.A.N.T.A.S.Y mixtape released last year was solid, and with a couple releases here and there this year, R’que is remaining as an underground player in the Philly hip hop community.
