The Marshall Tucker Band brings classic southern rock to The Queen
Last Friday night, legendary southern rockers The Marshall Tucker Band brought classic hits to the World Café Live at The Queen stage. The band was touring in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Searchin’ For A Rainbow, and did not disappoint with its energy.
The show opened with performer Bryan Russo delivering a soulful blues rock blend. The Maryland based musician was accompanied by a harmonica player. Russo showcased his nostalgic sound through an electric guitar and cigar box slide guitar.
Marshall Tucker Band appropriately opened their show with “This Ol’ Cowboy.” They continued the set with fan favorites “Fire On The Mountain” and “Can’t You See,” both songs from Rainbow. Lead singer and founding member Doug Gray kept the audience’s attention aflame by tossing out his signature tambourines for fans to take home. By the end of the show, Gray even went the extra mile to pull an excited fan on to the stage. After many sing along hits, the band exited the stage and returned with “Blue Ridge Mountain Sky” as their encore.
