Philly’s Tutlie turned a lot of heads with their excellent 2014 debut record Young Cries, a masterclass in folky baroque pop. Although the group hasn’t released any new material since, they’ve just put out a promo video for their upcoming show tomorrow at Everybody Hits that contains a clip of their first new song in over two years.

The brief preview features Tutlie’s quintessentially bright vocals that were scattered throughout Young Cries, but it also reveals a darker, more atmospheric sound. It may only be a minute long, but the video provides a glimpse into a band that has simultaneously managed to stay true to its strengths (beautiful Paper Kites-esque vocal melodies), while exploring a more mature sound.

Making things even more enticing, Tutlie is to be joined on stage by a brass trio and harpist Liz Ciavolino, which is sure to provide a fantastic complement to their sound.

Check out the video below, and see Tutlie perform live Saturday night at Everybody Hits. Event info can be found here.
