There’s a reason they call themselves By Surprise, I suppose. The Philly / South Jersey indie rock four-piece tends to release music on their own terms, not on some industry-mandated clock, and when a new jam crops up, it’s an awesome feeling like “oh, hey, a new By Surprise song!”

Such was the case yesterday when Brooklyn Vegan premiered “Teton Range,” a song from the band’s new split with Aspiga on Asian Man Records. Listen here for fantastic harmony vocals from Carolyn Haynes of Ghost Gum, Mercury Girls and Catnaps, not to mention crunchy fuzz riffs and twinkling leads of the Jets to Brazil variety.
