PREMIERE: A photo shoot with Spill gets awkward in the “Big Boss” video
After releasing its debut EP on Pittsburgh label Broken World last year, Philly four-piece Spill is heading out for a run of shows this winter with fellow local punks-at-heart Straw Hats.
Heading up to the tour, the band just released a new music video for their song “Big Boss,” directed by filmmaker (and Tyler student) Ryan Bender. While the song details 9-to-5 monotony, the video depicts the band changing outfits and reapplying rouge and lip gloss as photographers get awkwardly up in their space with spotlights and lenses – a comment of sorts, it seems, on the impersonality and monotony of fashion (and life in general).
Bassist Rafael Diaz tells us Spill is recording its debut full length with Kyle Pulley of Thin Lips at The Headroom when they’re back from tour this March. In the meantime, check out our premiere of the “Big Boss” music video below, as well as the tour dates – and a bonus video from Straw Hats.
