New Jersey pop-punk four-piece ROMP caught our ear last fall with a fantastic self-titled EP and a sound that channeled all that was bright and catchy and energizing about artists like Allison Weiss and The Front Bottoms. This week, they announced that they’re releasing their full-length debut, Departures from Venus, on Bad Timing Records this March.

To give us a taste, ROMP released the spunky “Last Year,” a keyboard-driven jam about escaping a rut; listen to it below. The band just played live last night at New Brunswick’s BoMA (Basement of Modern Art, the best DIY space name I’ve heard in a long time) with Mischief Brew and The Holy Mess, but they join Philly’s Steady Hands and Plainview (as well as the excellent Prawn) on a Punk Talks benefit in Hawthorne, NJ on March 5th, the day after Departures drops.
