Intercultural Journeys, a music and art collective based in Philadelphia, is bringing a new audio/visual performance, Home Within, to International House Philadelphia (3701 Chestnut St) tonight at 7:00 p.m.

The 60 minute performance has toured internationally and will feature Silk Road artists Kinan Azmeh (clarinet) and Kevork Mourad (visual art).

Home Within portrays an impressionistic view inside the struggles of the Syrian revolution that has been going on since 2011. All compositions and art are original and will be performed live. A discussion will be held with the artists after the performance.

A portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit the Intercultural Journeys Annual Fund.

Make sure to arrive early to attend “Food For Thought”, a discussion held in the East Gallery Alcove from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The conversation, led by Maya Alkateb-Chami, will include topics such as Syrian culture and the current refugee crisis. Admission is free and guests are encouraged to bring an item for a potluck-style dinner. RSVP for “Food For Thought” here.

The show was postponed from January 24th because of the blizzard last week.

Tickets can be found here for $15. If you use the promo code “Home”, you can get them for $12.
