Philly electro-popsters Marian Hill have returned with a new song, “Down.” An infectious, minimalist piano based song that showcases lead singer Samantha Gongol’s angelic, playful vocals is a small taste of what’s to come from their forthcoming album (hopefully) out by the summer.

On “Down,” Gongol’s vocals are colorfully manipulated behind the head nodding beats of keyboardist and programmer Jeremy Lloyd. It sounds like the young folks have been listening to a little Drake in their spare time (NOTE: You’re not kidding they have! -ed.), inspired to take a song down to its raw essence; the beat and the melody. Here’s an excellent case of less is more.

Below, get down with “Down.”
