If you’re on the lookout for unique live music in Philly tonight, here’s a show not to miss care of the Fire Museum folks. Mamady Kouyaté, a studied practitioner of African jazz (specifically the Guinean dance variety) brings his band The Mandingo Ambassadors to West Philly cultural hub The Rotunda tonight for a free concert.
Kouyaté founded the group in 2005, though the 60-year-old guitarist has been a player and arranger for most of his life. Tonight’s show begins at 8 p.m.; for more information, consult the Fire Museum Presents webpage, and listen to some of Kouyaté’s music with The Mandingo Ambassadors below.
