The Daylight Savings and Loan announce Tragically Magical, record release at The Fire
Philly indie rockers The Daylight Savings and Loan have just announced their new album Tragically Magical, out May 13th, along with its first single “(Leave That Attitude) Outside.”
Vocalist Michael Bradley said this about the album:
The record is … similarly energetic as previous stuff, with a touch of added production value. The vocals were recorded in Dr. Dog’s Mt. Slippery Studios. Stringed and keyed instruments were recorded in my West Philly house, and the Drums were recorded in our South Philadelphia practice space. A lot more time was taken while recording this record, than our previous EP, and we’re excited to finally get it out there and share it!
The band has also shared the music video for “Outside,” (directed by Luke Hardison and shot with help from members of The Spinto Band and Carol Cleveland Sings) which features the band members making trouble around a bonfire. The song’s thick, psych-rock vibe meets with sweet, childlike melodies to create a powerful bluesy jam with an attitude of its own.
The band will be holding their release for Tragically Magical on May 13th at The Fire with Trash Night, Professor Maybe, and Blood Sport. For tickets and more information, check out the XPN Concert Calendar.
