Mathew Cothran and Delaney Mills, jointly known as Elvis Depressedly, are set to release Holo Pleasures/California Dreamin’, a new LP out June 3rd on Run For Cover Records. Fans will notice Holo Pleasures is the title of their 2013 EP. This time around, they’re pairing it with six new songs that help to create a more full record.

California Dreamin’ is meant to represent a time when Cothran had a wider viewpoint — opposed to the detached, alcohol-flooded thoughts that are heard on Holo Pleasures. The new material is not a sequel, rather a companion. Run For Cover says, “Airy synthesizers, distant drums and cooing vocoders provide an intricate and fascinating backbone to the groovy, trance-inducing songs that are seen by the band as a bridge between the fuzzy indie pop of Holo Pleasures and the more laid-back grooves of their 2015 LP, new alhambra.”

This week, Elvis Depressedly shared “Angel Cum Clean” via Interview Magazine. The seventh track off the new release, it’s a song about Cothran’s interest in culture’s obsession with angels, as well as the realization of being an addict.
