Speedy Ortiz has released another song off its upcoming Foiled Again EP, out June 3rd via Carpark Records. The mesmorizing “Emma O” follows up “Death Note,” a catchy depression-inspired tune the Massachusetts rockers put out earlier this month.

“Emma O” is an addicting new song by the Boston based indie rock band. Frontwoman Sadie Dupuis’ soothing voice tells the story of time spent upstate with someone she shouldn’t love, while the guitars compliment with just enough texture to give you the feeling of that in-between state where you aren’t awake, but aren’t asleep either. Take a listen below to hear for yourself. With the two remaining tracks off the EP being remixes, “Death Note” and “Emma O” provided the perfect follow up to the 2015’s breakthrough album Foil Deer.

Speedy Ortiz just finished up a stint of shows with Philly’s own Hop Along. They’re currently on tour out west with The Good Life, but will be in the area in July after playing some festival dates. Head to the XPN Concert Calendar to get tickets and info on their July 19th gig at Lancaster’s Chameleon Club, when they’ll be joined by Spill and The Ok-Ok’s.
