Here’s a sample of what’s coming up Monday night at 8pm on our New Music Show:

“Watching The Waiting” by WYE OAK

The Baltimore duo Wye Oak surprised fans this past week by releasing an entire new album. Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack put forth Tween, their 5th full length album and first in two years. The album’s final track “Watching The Waiting” is also the first single and one of Wye Oak’s most charming songs to date.  Wye Oak is in town Friday night at Johnny Brenda’s and we’ll give’em a spin on the show Monday night!

“Villainy” by LOCAL NATIVES

Along with the official announcement of their new album (Sunlit Youth) we have another brand new song from Local Natives.  Where “Past Lives” simmers, “Villainy” soars and leaves us wanting a whole lot more. Sunlit Youth is due out in September, until then we’ll enjoy what we’ve got …

First Impression Artist: NEEDLE POINTS

Truth be told, I saw this band open a show at Kung-Fu Necktie 2 or 3 years ago. It was a bit wild, a bit weird and a lot of fun.  From Philly, Needle Points have harnessed some of that exuberance and are doing their part to keep rock ‘n roll alive on their new album Feel Young.  A new Philly favorite will be unveiled Monday night!  Here’s a little get to know ya video:

And make sure to check out our Best New Music Spotify Playlist each week to keep up on all the new tunes we’re spinning on the show:
