Something Radiohead is happening at Repo, Creep, Main Street Music and more on June 17th

Over the weekend, arty alt-rock icons Radiohead – in the most Radiohead of ways – announced a “unique event” on Friday, June 17th that will be streamed to a network of record stores globally.

Philly stores participating in Live From A Moon Shaped Pool are Repo Records on South Street, Creep Records in Northern Liberties and Main Street Music in Manayunk. Zooming out a little, other regional retailers involved are Rainbow Records in Newark, DE; Young Ones in Kutztown; Whirled Records in Hanover; and Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ.

So what the heck is Live From A Moon Shaped Pool? Quoth Radiohead, it is “an exclusive day long audio stream from the band, competitions, instructional artworks and more.”

So it sounds like some sort of audio feed – perhaps a live performance, but maybe not – and competitions? I’m intrigued. More information here.
