New Music Show Preview w/ Wilco, Jamie Lidell & more!
Every week I keep a list of all the new music that’s come my way since that last New Music Show. Monday mornings I take a last lap around my stacks of cds and chains of emails for some cool stuff to fill out the two hour show. This week, the show pretty much scheduled itself because so many of our favorite artists either surprised us or made good on their promise of new music. My Morning Jacket? Check! … Okkervil River? Got it! … Ryley Walker? Yup! … We’ll spin those plus these below, and a lot more coming up tonight at 8pm on our New Music Show.
“Locator” by WILCO
Jeff Tweedy and Wilco have yet again delighted us with some unexpected music … and we’re hoping there’s more to come! This past Friday marked the one-year anniversary of the surprise release of Wilco’s Star Wars album and they celebrated by letting this song, “Locator”, slip out into the universe …
“Walk Right Back” by JAMIE LIDELL
He’s always had a knack for writing fun, funky tunes and “Walk Right Back” the new song from Jamie Lidell is no different. The English soul singer (who now resides in Nashville) announced a new album, Building A Beginning, due out in October and delivered a sure hip-shaker!
First Impression Artist: THE MARKUS KING BAND
One of the recent additions to the XPoNential Music Festival (presented by Subaru), the Marcus King Band will make sure the temperature peaks during their performance on Sunday afternoon. The Greenville, South Carolina native has been hailed a guitar prodigy and championed heavily by Warren Haynes. We’ll be treated to a set at our Festival this weekend, and dig into his music tonight as our First Impression!
