Boston natives Quilt brought their dreamy / psychedelic rock / pop sound to WXPN’s Free at Noon last week. However, that wasn’t the end for Quilt’s Philly stay. Post-Free at Noon, the band headed to The Foundry at The Fillmore, where they played a headlining show with The Dove & The Wolf and Mary Lattimore.

First to play were the French songbirds of The Dove & The Wolf that flocked to Philly and made a home here. The band grabbed the audiences’ attention with songs from their newest release, I Don’t Know What To Feel. You could describe their sound as “where Crosby, Stills & Nash and air meet a feminine tenor,” as stated on the band’s Facebook page. Next up was Mary Lattimore, and damn was it beautiful, per usual. This wasn’t my first time seeing Lattimore live, but every time she still is able to lure the audience, and myself of course, in with the first pluck of her strings.

Everyone standing in front of the stage, watching her set (nevermind the a**holes in the back of the room that wouldn’t stop talking) were completely paralyzed, all eyes on Mary during the entirety of her set. One girl even claimed a seat right in front of the stage, looking up at Mary with a special sparkle in her eyes, even reaching her hands out to her at one point.

Last to take the stage was headliner, Quilt. They took the stage confidently, playing songs off of their early 2016 release, Plaza, including fan favorites, “Roller” and “Eliot St.,” combining vocal melodies from Anna Fox Rochinski, Shane Butler, John Andrews, and Keven Lareau. Rochinski spoke to the crowd about her time living in Boston, when she wasn’t really happy there, prior to moving to New York. She followed with telling the crowd that if she could do it again, pick up and move to a new city, she would definitely pick Philadelphia, which put a smile on the many faces in the crowd.
