Josh Jones channels existential dread on “Be Yourself”

Since the dissolution of his punky indie rock outfit Univox, Philly’s Josh Jones has busied himself with video directing work, solo songs laced with heartache, and occasional combinations of the two (the brilliant video for “This Body Grows Back”).
His latest solo outing, the song “Be Yourself,” is a minimal number with blown-out acoustic guitars, melancholic vocals and lyrics of existential dread: “in my mind, no one has changed / in my eyes, no one is safe.”
