Georgia native rocker Butch Walker joined the XPN community today, putting on a wonderful Free at Noon show from start to finish. He was joined Suzanne Santo of Honey Honey who sings the harmony vocals on his songs. Walker kicked off his set with the title track off his new album, Stay Gold, which just dropped today on Dangerbird Records. “I’m really proud of this record, even though it doesn’t look like it,” Walker told the crowd before playing “Stay Gold”. Later on in his set, he went on to tell us again just how proud he truly is of this new album.

Walker is definitely quite the character, cracking jokes throughout his whole set. He mentioned how he has been sober for five weeks now on doctor’s orders, which is a milestone for him. Going on to say that it’s quite different to play to a crowd who is also sober. This was followed by laughing and cheering from the audience as people held up their beers. “Oh you’re drinking? That’s a Philadelphia lunch break,” Walker said. He went on to play some old fan favorites such as “Chrissie Hynde”, which was written about the badass front-woman of The Pretenders.

You can see more photos from Butch Walker’s set this afternoon below, along with the concert audio and setlist! He plays tonight at the TLA; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
