Hard-touring, distortion-pedal-loving Philly rockers Left & Right releases its latest LP, The Yips, on Charlottesville label War Hen Records on September 16th. It follows up their 2014 Infinity Cat LP Five Year Plan and several runs around the country with Diarrhea Planet and more.

Over the past month, the band has teased the new record with a string of tracks, most recently the strolling “Mouse Drum,” which has a totally sweet “Only In Dreams” Weezer thing going on.

Also in the mix are songs the band premiered for the first time a year and a half ago in their Key Studio Session. There’s “Sleep Show,” a Soundgarden-esque scorcher where Daniel Merchant sings about passing out onstage in the middle of a gig.

And of course, the thundering “Trail Song,” which growls and grinds like Mudhoney.

So basically, if you like angular aggro guitar rawk from the 90s and DIY punk from today, Left & Right’s new one is for you. The band celebrates its LP release on September 16th at Everybody Hits with Friendship, Sneeze and Horsecops. Information on that show can be found at its Facebook Event Page.
