Outside of her role as one half of the folk-punk duo Girlpool, Harmony Tividad produces lo-fi electro-inspired music as a solo act. Her latest three-track EP, Yes and Hello, showed up on Bandcamp on September 8.

Opening track “Costume Jewelry” has a few lines of gentle vocals, allowing listeners to better appreciate the simple percussion-driven production. The lyrics could easily have been overshadowed had the song been more dense, but right now they’re in balance, reflecting on roles people play: “I’m running away so fast i call it off / million dollar kids buy dreams in terrycloth.”

“Diamond in the Rough” is a soft-core drum and bass song, also sprinkled with occasional lo-fi vocals. The closing “What Chaos is Imaginary” has an intro that would appeal to any Santigold fan. The hi-hat driven beat is paired with introspective lyrics, concluding an EP that would be a solid soundtrack to any daydream.
