At some point while I was listening to Teenage Bigfoot’s latest EP 2 Lit 2 Quit, I found that I had kicked my shoes off and was dancing far more aggressively than is appropriate in an office setting. Maybe I identified with the EP’s third song “No Office in the Wild” a little too much, or maybe it was the trio’s fast-paced anthems. To be honest, it was probably a combination of both of those things.

The four-track EP showed up on Bandcamp on September 6. The self proclaimed pop-punk trio has been active in the predominately male Philadelphia punk scene since 2013. Lead vocalist/bassist Tiffany Tavella is a force to be reckoned with. She unapologetically destroys stereotypes and draws fans in with cheeky and relatable lyrics like,  “Aching for backbreaking labor so I can do something more with my hands/There’s more to life than a grid and no office in the wild.”Tavella’s bass and vocals are accompanied by Jake Wunderlich on the drums and K.B. Vickers on guitar and backup vocals. Opening track, “Curiouser & Curiouser” details the perpetual confusion that accompanies being a young adult in this day and age and is accompanied by consistently upbeat drums in the background along with Vicker’s clever backup vocals. “Totally Called it” is a track driven more by Vickers on the electric guitar while Tavella’s bass playing takes a back seat. 2 Lit 2 Quit concludes with “The Last Love Song,” a positively punk version of a love song that glorifies the safety of a basement and references a metaphorical zombie apocalypse in attempts to salvage a relationship that is clearly on its last leg.

The EP will probably leave you with a sore neck because it’s impossible to listen without vigorously nodding your head along with the speedy bass that is present in every song. It’s totally worth it, so have a bottle of Advil on hand and grab your headphones.
