Meet Denver transplants Straight White Teeth, see them tonight at Johnny Brenda’s

As of late, lo-fi solo artists and bands have been accounting for a growing segment of the Philadelphia indie scene.

Here to join the crowd is Denver-turned-Philly band Straight White Teeth, the dream pop brainchild of former Flashbulb Fires frontman Patrick McGuire. SWT consists of McGuire on the keyboard/vocals accompanied by Pat Thomas and Ella Trujillo on contributing instrumentals, the band will be opening for neo-folk group the Golden Suits tonight at Johnny Brenda’s.

The band’s most recent single “Wind Takes” was released on September 15th, and it’s got a dreamy wave of synthesizers mixing with a bubbling New Wave bounce resminiscent of Tokyo Police Club and Passion Pit.
