Sad13 | still from video

Last month, Sad13, AKA Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz, released her debut record Slugger, which playfully balanced dance pop and discourse. Now, one of its standout tracks, the vibrant consent anthem “Get a Yes” has received an equally vibrant music video. You can check it out below.

Dupuis described the video to Pitchfork as an ode to “90s style group dance videos”, and it shows with its bright primary colors and geometric set decorations. In between the silly choreography, pairs of dancers demonstrate important concepts of consent, and the whole thing ends with Dupuis in a board room, challenging a room of white businessmen to find something wrong with the video.

If you want to see Sad13 live, she’ll play Everybody Hits this Monday, December 12th. She’ll be joined by VagabonEmily Reo, and Told Slant. For tickets and more information, head over to XPN’s Concert Calendar.
