The Vernes explore both sides of the musical coin on the duel single The Curious Cat's Eyes - WXPN | Vinyl At Heart

Spacey indie rockers The Vernes dropped new duel single The Curious Cat’s Eyes this week, musically exploring both sides of the same coin, stressing the necessity to live life.

Both tracks explore the inexplicable pace of life, almost calling to the classic Bueller quote “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around once and a while, you could miss it.” It’s a simple yet profound concept, amplified by the band’s ability to portray the point through different musical lenses, making the listener view the problem from every angle and perception. Bouncing from a slightly more polished indie rock piece to a muddled electronic-driven remix, both tracks put forward a sense of helplessness, especially emulating from the latter track’s lonely keys.

Regardless of the style, both songs add some atmospheric indie tunes to support those late-night reflections. Listen to the single below, and be sure to catch the band at The Fire later this week on the 20th; tickets/more information can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.
