Pinegrove releases benefit live album Everywhere for Southern Poverty Law Center
Just across the river, Montclair beauties Pinegrove have been continuing to use their music as a means to help others who need it. The band’s recent release Everywhere finds eight tracks recorded live during their tour with Kevin Devine, Petal, and Julien Baker, with all proceeds going towards the Southern Poverty Law Center, a “non-profit organization that combats hate, intolerance, and discrimination through education and litigation”.
The band is also using this record as a bit of a thank you to 2016, saying
“This release is intended as a thank you letter to everybody who supported us in any way. It was a challenging year, but So rewarding to meet so many wonderful people, & to learn a little more about what this good country is really like. We have found it to be beautiful the whole way through, populated by excellent people everywhere. We thank you sincerely for your help, your love, & your generosity.”
The rest of the band’s discography is up at a “name-your-price” pricing, with the proceeds also going towards the SPLC. I find that Pinegrove’s depth can really be observed through their performance of material live, where favorite tracks like “Cadmium” and “Size Of The Moon” can really shine.
