What’s better than amazing indie artists coming together to contribute songs about self care and then donating the proceeds to charity? I’ll tell you: nothing. Nothing is better. And Sleeper Records, a new West Philly-based record label, just made that happen. The compilation is called Six Weeks of Winter and its basically a lo-fi indie lover’s dream wrapped up in one pretty package.
The compilation features 18 tracks, including Shelf Life’s dreamy, fuzz-filled “Tulip and Dauphin,” which melds somber and melancholy with underlying cheery vibes, Free Cake for Every Creature’s lullaby-esque, “I’ll Be Here in the Morning” and Chef Kiss’s languid vocal greatness in “Haircut.”
All of the proceeds are going to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, so do a good thing today and get yourself a download of Six Weeks of Winter on Bandcamp.
