Strand Of Oaks’ sketches up a storm in new “Rest Of It” lyric video
Philadelphia’s Strand Of Oaks is just one week away from dropping its latest LP, Hard Love. We’ve already heard two of its anthemic, hard-rocking singles, “Radio Kids” and “Rest Of It”, and while the former boasted both a traditional music video and a lyric video, the latter enjoyed no such luxury. That is, until now. Stream the lyric video for “Rest of It” below.
While this visual has the more practical use of learning the words (so you can scream them at Union Transfer this March 10th), it also gives you a chance to watch Showalter go to town on a notepad with some markers and chalk. To my eyes, it’s a bunch of scribbles with a well-placed phallus here and there, but that probably says more about me than it does about the video itself. I don’t what you’ll see in Showalter’s sketches, but I can promise you that, without a doubt, you will see the lyrics.
Hard Love is out this February 17th via Dead Oceans. For tickets and more info on Strand Of Oaks’ UT gig, head over to XPN’s Concert Calendar. For more on Showalter’s release day hang at Main Street Music — where he will allegedly sketch album sleeves on demand amid beer and pizza — click here.
