The Dean Ween Group recently stopped by XPN studios for a World Cafe session with David Dye. A rotating cast of characters fronted by Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo himself, the band played music from The Deaner Album, an nod to Melchiondo’s roots in 80s / 90s New Hope alt-rock band Ween. They also resurrected that band’s slow jam, “Freedom of ’76,” incorporating the song’s traditional falsettos beautifully by having vocalist Carol Brooks take the reigns.
Check out the World Cafe session here, in which the group also performs “You Were There,” from The Deaner Album.
