Celebrate Slowdive with this new covers compilation, featuring Bryant Eugene Vazquez and more

With the promise of new music imminent, interest in shoegaze heroes Slowdive has increased exponentially in recent months. They began performing live again a few years ago, and this past January, they shared their first new song in 22 years. Now, Brazil-based The Blog That Celebrates Itself is taking time out of its busy schedule of self-love to celebrate Slowdive’s music with a new covers compilation. They’re calling it Just For A Life.
From Whimsical’s take on the title track of Slowdive’s self-titled EP to Mevius’ reinterpretation of new “Star Roving”, it’s a diverse 21 track set. Philly’s own Bryant Eugene Vazquez even makes an appearance with his cover of Just For a Day cut “Ballad of Sister Sue.” Stream the set below.
