Watch Xenia Rubinos dance up on some strangers in the video for her vibrant new single “L.O.V.E”
If you come across something more unequivocally positive than this new Xenia Rubinos single by the time Sunday rolls around, you are having a very good week. “L.O.V.E.” is the latest from the Brooklyn singer/songwriter, and it’s as vibrant, funky, and soulful as you’d expect. With its heartwarming new video, which sees Rubinos dancing with people all over New York, she positions the track as a joyful extension of the olive branch in the face of prejudice, anger, and hate. Stream the track below.
Rubinos has taken on a wide range of styles thus far, but this time around, electro R&B takes point. Start-stop drums, bass, and some tastefully sparse Rhodes and synthesizer comprise the entire instrumental, leaving plenty of room for her trademark vocal acrobatics. Considering the strong desire you’re about to have to get up and dance like Rubinos does in the video, “L.O.V.E.” might not be safe for work depending on the size of your office, but what’s a collapsed cubicle amongst friends? This track was built to break down walls.
You can catch Xenia Rubinos live when she plays XPoNential Fest this summer. For tickets and more information, head over to the Concert Calendar.
