It seems that Philly punk four-piece, Clique, has a bit of a stalker situation in the new video for their song “Usage.” An opening shot introduces a man in his car, swigging back shots from a flask and getting his video camera ready. Creepiness immediately ensues when it becomes apparent that the man is stalking and filming the band members.

Throughout the video, frames cut to fuzzed-out zoom shots, where viewers see through the eyes of the stalker’s video camera. This is where it gets super uneasy. Shifting onto this perspective casts an immersive effect where the viewer unconsciously becomes the stalker, in a way. And the fact that the band never notices the stalker raises the disturbing levels so very high. Though definitely unsettling, this eerie vibe provides a cool, notable addition to the slow-burning punk track.
