Cayetana gets back up in the empowering new single “Bus Ticket”
Local favorites Cayetana are getting ready to release New Kind of Normal next month, and after giving us some great tour news yesterday, they unveiled another track. “Bus Ticket” encapsulates Rocky’s creed of “…it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward,” as Augusta Koch bounces back from toxic relationships and self-depreciation.
Confidently proclaiming “This is the new me,” Koch and crew blast through another jam about empowerment of epic proportions, hitting each instrument with that extra oomph. The track exposes the real trouble with being yourself; continuing to be you can be tiring, and Koch knows it. But thankfully, if Cayetana didn’t keep on being their kickass selves, we wouldn’t have another record of the year on our hands.
Listen to the track on Fader, and catch the band’s album release part at the First Unitarian Church on May 5th, as well as their tour this summer with Camp Cope and Worriers in Lancaster; tickets/more information can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.
