Coming off their Thursday night gig playing for radio industry people at NonCOMM, Real Estate played their new album and old hits for a mostly younger crowd Friday night at Union Transfer.

Kicking off the night, Frankie Cosmos with songs from last year’s Next Thing. Frontwoman Greta Kline joked around with the audience between songs and about halfway through the set a few of the guys of Real Estate spontaneously joined her on stage. After a quick hugging session came to an end on stage, Kline sang happy birthday to her bassist and wrapped a very fun opening set.

Real Estate opened with “Saturday,” the final song on their new album In Mind. The 15-song setlist showcased that record, as well as “It’s Real” from Days and “Had to Hear” from Atlas. They ended the regular set with “Beach Comber” from their self-titled debut album before coming back out for a three-song encore. Throughout their set, fans were totally in the zone, eyes closed, shouting out requests between songs. It was the kind of show that lets you forget about everything going on outside the venue walls and you feel the music spreading through the room.
