Individually, DJ Zilla Rocca and producer, Small Professor have been crushing it for years. Just imagine the dream of utter jams that a collab could produce. You have that beauty pictured? Okay, great – now throw that imaginary concoction out the window because there actually is a real, live duo debut from Rocca and Professor, and it most likely exceeds even your dreamt up wildest hopes.

Dubbing themselves as Career Crooks, the two recently debuted the project’s first album, Good Luck With That. Reminiscent of late 80s, early 90s rap, the 14 track album refrains from sounding kitchy or dated by infusing a modern spin and current verses.

Opening title track “Good Luck With That” breezes in with tough-yet-relaxed West Coast vibes, which then jumps into the bold and animated, “Corrupt Novelist.” Next standout, “Least Important Most Important,” then fuses a dirtied up, sitar-sounding backline with lyrics dedicated to the hardworking blue-collar folk.

Catch Career Crooks when they hit up Kung Fu Necktie on July 5th. Find info on the XPN Concert Calendar, and stream Good Luck with That below.
