Stream Big Nothing’s wildly jam-worthy, self titled EP via Brooklyn Vegan
You were given a warm introduction to new local super-group Big Nothing last week when we premiered their power-chord heavy, helluva ride of a single, “Cincinnati.” Now you can become even more well-acquainted — become pals even — by listening to the band’s full self-titled EP. Though officially out on July 28th, the crew has shared an early streaming of the EP via Brooklyn Vegan.
Track “Call Me Out” is tinged with softer vibes (as soft as you can be with punk, that is) and dances to full group vocals and swirling guitars. “Glorea” then bursts out as an insanely fun and fast track about nixing incessant small-talk and getting to really know a lady by the name of Gloria — ehem, sorry, Glorea — without the “i.” And don’t you forget it.
Then closing song, “Sugar,” sends the EP out in droves of emo-punk lyrical gems. As testament, the opening line is “I go to sleep hungry so that when I wake up I’m filled up with empty dread.” Yes, just yes.
Jam with Big Nothing when they play Kung Fu Necktie on August 18th, along with Choke Up and Timeshares. Find info on the show here, and stream Big Nothing’s “Cincinnati” below.
