This fall, Irish rock icons U2 are following up 2014’s Songs of Innocence with a new outing called Songs of Experience — which, if you don’t remember from high school lit class, is a William Blake reference — and the “official” first single, “You’re The Best Thing About Me,” is due on September 6th. But today, the band unveiled a different new song via a live performance video.

Filmed in front of an amped-up crowd, “The Blackout” is a riveting rocker in the vein of The Joshua Tree‘s “Bullet The Blue Sky,” and we’re hoping the studio rendition carries the same spirit. Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments.
